Congratulations to Dr. Sanaz Habibi, recent Chemistry PhD graduate, on being awarded the 2025 Thomas G. Stockham Medal for Conspicuously Effective Teaching!
The Stockham Medal for Conspicuously Effective Teaching is awarded to one university student a year in recognition of exceptional teaching achievement. Students are nominated by their faculty advisors or mentors and winners of this honor receive a $5,000 Cash prize.
Sanaz, a PhD student in the Department of Chemistry, was nominated for this award in recognition of their outstanding achievement as a TA and undergraduate/graduate student mentor. During the course of their many assignments as a TA, Sanaz demonstrated a deep commitment to creating collaborative, professional and impactful educational environments. Sanaz’s creativity and perspective has impacted not only the courses they assisted with but will continue to have an impact on future classes as well, as the labs and lectures they developed are still being used.
