Please read through the following before submitting a Permission Code request as the process has changed.

- Before requesting your permission code:
- Double check the course number (CHEM 1210) and section (002) you are wanting to register for.
- Check if there are seats for the section you want. If the section is full, a permission code will only add you to the wait list.
- When you submit your permission code request you will receive confirmation to your student email. (UMail) If you did not get confirmation, it most likely did not go through. Please try again. If you still don’t get confirmation, you can reach out to a chemistry advisor to have them double check it has been received.
- We process permission codes in the order they are received. Allow 5 business days for processing. Calling or emailing about the status of your permission code will only slow down the process.
- A permission code will not be given for the following reasons:
- You are wait listed for the lecture and trying to get into the co requisite lab.
- You requested a permission code for a course that has no prerequisites.
- You do not meet the prerequisites and failed to submit transcripts with proof.

For questions about undergraduate permission codes, please contact your advisor.
** Permission Codes have been turned on for the Fall 26 Semester. They will reopen Nov. 5th for Spring 27 registration.**
If you are an undergraduate student and need a permission code for a graduate level course, you will need to e-mail the professor for approval, you will then forward their approval to Amy Beardshall and request a permission code for the course.
AP Lab Notebook Evaluations
Please Read Thoroughly as the Requirements Have Changed

- A TYPED table of contents labeling each lab
- Provide a brief summary of every lab completed using this link. https://forms.gle/u55jDU6rCZFSEe3D7
If you are unsure about submitting your AP lab notebook, the button below will take you to the evaluation criteria for you to review.
If you have any questions, you can email a chemistry/biochemistry advisor.
FAQS

Unfortunately, once a course is filled, it is filled. This is especially the case with lab sections as we have to be in compliance with safety regulations. Try using schedule builder to see if there is any other way to plan your semester. Otherwise, we encourage you to watch the enrollment as enrollment numbers frequently change during the first week of classes.

Try removing the course from your shopping cart and add it again. The box for the permission code should appear.

Permission codes will only work for the section it was assigned and can only be used once. If you are still having trouble, call Office of the Registrar (801-581-5808).

We do not have waitlists for our courses in the Department of Chemistry because it creates inequality for our transfer students since they require a permission code. Transfer students are not able to get off the waitlist since a permission code is needed.
